Natural dyeing refers to the use of natural flowers, grass, trees, stems, leaves, fruits, seeds, bark, and roots to extract pigments for use as dyes. Natural dyes are loved around the world for their natural colors, insect-repellent and antibacterial properties, and natural fragrances. Faced with the shortcomings of plant dyes, the natural dye research and development team at Wuhan Textile University began with the extraction of plant dyes, the study of the plant dyeing process, and the development of auxiliaries. After years of effort, they have overcome issues with poor stability, resistance, and poor repeatability during the dyeing process and have achieved large-scale production.
